Programme Notes

Today the Fairlight Players return to drama with "Reward In Heaven", after their recent comedy productions. The play however is not without its lighter moments. Leading the strong cast is Doris Taylor-Smith in the part of Win the domineering sister of the Tatham family. Another favourite player, Elsie Stevens, brings her inimitable touch as the pathetic Shiela the eldest sister. Marjorie Vandervord and Patricia Wilkins add their accomplished playing as the remaining two sisters of the family.

Making an all too rare appearance at Fairlight is John Line giving a sensitive and subtle portrayal as Hugh Tatham. We are also pleased to see Stanley Bull providing good comedy relief and completing the cast is Dee Beeching in the part of Louise, a different and unusual role.

This production we are sure, will give pleasure. An excellent blend of good theatre, natural dialogue, gripping situations with well-timed comedy relief and a stimulating twist to the end of the play.
